I was born in Romagna (Italy) in 1961, where I still live and work. I studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ravenna and then I specialized in wood restoration and in the use of industrial product applications in contemporary art. I have collaborated with galleries, art networks and fashion houses, I have created sets for television programs, I have created monumental public works.


Massimo Sansavini was born in Forlì in 1961.

He studied in Ravenna at the Liceo Artistico "PL Nervi", then continued his training at the Institute for Mosaic "G. Severini" and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ravenna, then specializing in wood restoration and the use of industrial resins applied to art.

Many exhibitions have taken him abroad to various museums. From 1999 to 2003 at the invitation of the director of the São Paulo Art Biennial of Brazil, Fabio Maghalaes, he is frequently in Brazil where he lives for long periods, to create sculptures, exhibited at the Mu.BE Museo Brasileiro da Escultura in São Paulo, the The exhibition then continued at the Italian Embassy in Brasilia, at the MCE Museu in Porto Alegre and at the Museu Nacional de Belas Artes in Rio de Janeiro, by the will of the architect Oscar Niemeyer who met Sansavini in Rio appreciating his works. The Brazilian exhibitions were accompanied by a catalog published by Torcular with critical texts by Fabio Maghalaes, Tommaso Trini and Giuseppe Bonini.

In 2001 he created the Fables of the East exhibited at the Oratory of San Sebastiano in Forlì with a catalog published by Oz Arte Design and with texts by Maria Virginia Cardi.

In 2004 he created the Sea's Stories exhibition, with a catalog published by Oz Arte Design and with text by Franca Zoccoli, then collaborated with Rai Italian Broadcasting Television, creating various sets for the programs In Famiglia and Piazza Grande under the direction of Michele Guardì, among others he also creates the scenography of Paolo Fox's horoscope, which has been present on television screens for 15 years.

Later it is present in the exhibition From Picasso to Botero, exhibited at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Arezzo and at Palazzo Albertini in Forlì, with the patronage of the President of the Italian Republic, with a catalog published by Torcular and with reviews by the critic Vittorio Sgarbi and Giovanni Faccenda, [group show]. This is followed by the exhibition “Non Solo Favole” created for the Galleria del Palazzo in Florence (Palazzo Coveri).

In 2005 he realizes the historic Palio for the city of Gualdo Tadino.

In 2006 Sansavini begins the exhibition of Neverland, an articulated project born in 2005 that includes a cycle of traveling exhibitions that will take him to Berlin, Hamburg, Wolfsburg and Nuremberg with the collaboration of the Foreign Ministry which has promoted and included Neverland as the only project for contemporary art in 2006. In addition to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Italian Embassy in Berlin and the Italian Cultural Institutes were involved, for this cycle of exhibitions a catalog was published by Gangemi Editore with critical texts by Renato Cristin , Francesco Gallo, Maurizio Sciaccaluga and Maurizio Vanni. He is also present in the group exhibitions curated by Maurizio Vanni: The artist the Master and Margherita at the Palagio di Parte Guelfa in Florence and at the M'Ars in Moscow and Dreaming at the Foreign Art Museum in Riga. The exhibitions curated by Paolo Pancaldi, Sansavini Lodola, Vespe nella Notte on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Piaggio and Homage to Marylin, Sansavini, Rotella, P. Kostaby, Chiari, Ronda, curated by Paolo Pancaldi [collective exhibition].

In 2007 he was present at various group exhibitions such as Art Miami (Florida) with the Modenarte gallery, and at the Fashion Week Ftl moda in Fort Lauderdale (Florida), at Colors of Art in Boca Raton (Florida), with the Modenarte Gallery and at Eu Art traveling exhibition in Miami, Boston, New York and Atlanta followed by the solo Recent Works, at the Kashogi Gallery in St Augustine (Florida). He is then present at the collective exhibition Lights and Colors at Umbria Jazz, organized by the Galleria Il Gianicolo in Perugia Italy, then he realizes the scenography for the concerts of Jazzist Jimmy Owens.

In 2008 his designs are used by the Maison Enrico Coveri for the Women's S / S 2009 collection and presented at the Milan Fashion Week, in the same year he is the realization of the Kindergarten exhibition exhibited at the Modenarte Gallery in Iseo, with a catalog published by Carlo Cambi and with texts by Mauro Corradini and Alessandra Redaelli, he is then present at the collective exhibition Dieci per Cento at the Gallery of Modern Art in Cento di Ferrara Italy with a catalog published by Carlo Cambi and texts by Giampaolo Trotta, and at the collective exhibition Love curated by Paolo Donini and Daniela Del Moro, at the Civic Galleries of Palazzo Ducale in Pavullo nel Frignano (MO), afterwards the Kindergarten exhibition is set up at the Kiaf fair in Seoul with the Modenarte Gallery followed by the Artcore exhibition created for the Palazzo Gallery - Palazzo Coveri in Florence Italy

In 2009 he was included in the group exhibitions "Futurism in its centenary continuity" curated by Luigi Tallarico at the Palazzo Ducale in Cavallino, Italy and in the exhibition A + B + C / F = Futurism, at the Palazzo del Monferrato and at the Hat Museum in Alessandria. Italy, presented by the critic Philippe Daverio; in the same year he created a monumental work for the city of Alessandria in Italy. He then exhibited his works at the headquarters of the Italian Touring Club in Milan and later at the Galleria dell'Incontro in Cosenza (IT). He then realizes for the Municipality of Cesenatico (IT) the XII edition of the Tende al Mare, an annual event conceived by the Nobel Prize winner Dario Fo. In 2010 he was included in the collective exhibition “Road to Futurism” at the NAMOC National Museum of China in Beijing and at the Guangdong Art Museum in Canton sponsored by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Cultural Activities, catalog edited by Sabrina Raffaghello; in December of the same year he presented the installation “Softheart” in the complex of Santa Rita in Rome with a monograph reviewed by the critic Francesco Gallo.

In 2011 he exhibited his works at the pwc Experience space at the Sole 24 ore headquarters in Milan, and then at Cà Zanardi in Venice in a group show curated by Alberto D'Atanasio. For the Modenarte Gallery he realizes the illustrations of the complete re-edition of the Pinocchio book then exhibited at the Modenarte Gallery and later as the main event at the Immagina fair in Reggio Emilia. He is then invited to the 54th Venice International Art Exhibition; also in December 2011 is the exhibition Once upon a time exhibited at the MACRO in Rome curated by Valeria Arnaldi.

In 2012 he created the coordinated image of Pop Heart perfumes for the Enrico Coveri Maison and presented the kitchen he designed and built for Enrico Coveri Living at the Salone del Mobile in Milan; of the same year is the project "Il Disebocchio La Città dell'Anima" curated by Alberto D'Atanasio together with Luca Dall'Olio and Ciro Palumbo, exhibited at the Museum of Santa Giulia in Brescia.

In 2013 he was present in the group shows Un Artist for a Rose at the Santa Rita complex in Rome curated by Paola Passiante, and Giuseppe Verdi il Centenario, at the Auditorium Conciliazione in Rome curated by Lamberto Petecca and Gloria Porcella. Also present at the second edition of the collective exhibition is the exhibition Once upon a time exhibited at the MACRO in Rome exhibition and catalog curated by Valeria Arnaldi.

In 2014, the "Natural" exhibition at the Palmieri Foundation in Lecce, followed by the Sansavini exhibition, at the Manni Art Gallery in Venice Lido and Massimo Sansavini at the Hausammann Gallery in Cortina d'Ampezzo (IT) and is featured in the collective Artur-O in Florence curated by Tiziana Leopizzi.

In 2016 he presents the Venice in Love exhibition at the Galleria Luce in Venice and later the Recent Works exhibition at the Manni Art Gallery in Venice Lido.Then the Touroperator exhibition itinerary begins, an exhibition created with the wood of the hulls of migrants recovered in Lampedusa, the material, subject to confiscation, was granted for the first time by the Court of Agrigento to an artist for cultural purposes. Sempre del 2018 è la mostra “That's Amore” ospitata presso il Comune di Amalfi (SA) a cura di Angelo Criscuoli. Segue la mostra “Massimo Sansavini” presso il Comune di Rivisondoli (AQ) a cura di Giulio Carosone. Per l’occasione realizza l'opera “Tu sei Me” che è l'immagine simbolo per il 2019 del Presepe Vivente più antico d'Italia l’opera fa parte della collezione del museo di Rivisondoli.
